The Eucharist

CHRIST TRULY PRESENT

The Eucharist is the "source and summit of the Christian life...for in the blessed Eucharist is contained the whole spiritual goods of the Church, namely Christ himself"

Otherwise known as Holy Communion, the Eucharist is presented to us as the body, blood, soul and divinity of Jesus Christ. "It is a sacrament of love, a sign of unity, a bond of charity, a Paschal banquet 'in which Christ is consumed, the mind is filled with grace, and a pledge of future glory is given to us."

ccc 1323,1324

When we are in a state of grace, we are invited to receive the Eucharist every day during the celebration of the Mass.

Children in second grade prepare to receive Christ for the first time in religious education classes. First Communion is typically celebrated the Sunday after Easter.

Adults who wish to come into full communion with the Catholic Church and thus be able to receive Christ in the Eucharist should call the Parish Center (218-262-5541) to speak with a priest.
